Jinfeng Primary School of Zhuhai High-tech Zone is a district public primary school organised by the Administrative Committee of Zhuhai High-tech Zone in cooperation with Beijing Normal University. The school is located in Zhuhai High-tech Zone Xiangshan Road 399, according to the mountain side covers an area of 16,000 square metres, building area of 12,000 square metres.Founded in September 2019 to date, the existing grades 1 to 6 of a total of 25 teaching classes, 1,142 students, 69 full-time teachers (including 44 teachers on the staff, 25 teachers of the same pay).

The school adheres to the core values of "People, Love and Innovation" of the North Normal University, adheres to the teacher's code of conduct of "Learning to be a teacher, behaving as a model for the rest of the world", carries out the educational philosophy of "Teaching and educating in the smallest details, and student growth in activities", and adheres to the five simultaneous efforts in cultivating the young people of the new era who have the spirit of independence, the sense of co-operation, the scientific literacy, the sense of the nation, and the international outlook.

In the past four years, adhering to the tenet of "every pearl shines" and cultivating students' core qualities and future-oriented key abilities, the school has completed the construction of a complete education system from early childhood convergence, six years of primary school to primary and junior high school convergence. From teacher training, curriculum construction to special activities, the school has started the U-S model of university-affiliated schools, using university resources to continuously promote the innovative development of basic education.


Educational technology innovation practice

1. School hardware and software facilities

The school carried out the conceptual design of campus informatisation at the early stage of the school's construction in 2019, and now has software and hardware such as face recognition gates at the school entrance, intelligent interconnections after school, intelligent ordering and payment systems, and intelligent borrowing and returning machines in libraries, etc. and has been continuously improved in the process of implementation. With the gradual deepening of campus digitalisation and information construction, the integration of various information resources on campus has gradually entered the stage of comprehensive planning and implementation. At present, the school is accelerating the information evaluation project to achieve the teaching and moral education evaluation of information technology, has completed the smart school card production and evaluation software open, is building the school information evaluation system.

2. Teacher Team Building

The school currently has 69 full-time teachers, including 2 IT teachers and 3 science teachers. The school's educational technology innovations are based on the five teachers in the science and technology team, supplemented by teachers from other schools, to try out educational technology innovations and their implementation in the classroom.

3. Science and technology course offerings

a. Establish a special programme in science and technology to create a school with a special focus on science and technology.

With the goal of cultivating students' sense of innovation and practical hands-on ability, enriching their after-school life, and improving their scientific literacy, the school offers courses in three forms of educational technology innovation:

Information Technology Popularisation Classes: One Information Technology class per week for grades 3-6, and Artificial Intelligence Module classes for grades 5 and 6;

After-school service 430 classes: 3 science experiments, flying experiments and artificial intelligence robotics;

Boutique Varsity: 3 varsity courses in Robotics, Creative Intelligence, and Model Aviation.

A large number of students' personalities and strengths have been developed, and students' interest in science and technology has been increasing, presenting a positive and studious, truth-seeking, self-confident and autonomous good mental outlook.

b. Comprehensive revitalisation of geographical resources and development of space for science and technology education.

The school is surrounded by three universities (Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus, Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University Joint International College, Beijing Institute of Technology Zhuhai College) and high-tech industries (Yunzhou Technology unmanned boat, Kingsoft, Gree, Tomson Healthcare). Based on the characteristics of the geographical area, the Section Group invites experts into the school and takes the students out to experience scientific and technological activities through the forms of Scientists' Talking Stage, Teacher's University with an Appointment, Scientific and Technological Research, U-S Cooperation, and Research Study, to cultivate the scientific and technological literacy.
