School Profile

Tsinghua International School is a part of Tsinghua School and was founded in 2009 to provide the children of returnee professors from Tsinghua University with a Chinese-Western fusion education that suits their needs. The school is adjacent to the Yuanmingyuan Garden, a World Heritage Site, and is located on the campus of Tsinghua-affiliated secondary school, a centuries-old school with an excellent geographical location and a strong academic atmosphere. The school has a Primary School, a Junior High School and a Senior High School, with students from 20 countries and regions, including the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. The school's core curriculum is based on the American curriculum and incorporates Chinese language and culture. The English-medium teaching environment allows students to develop their language skills in all aspects of academics and social language. In addition, the Chinese language and culture programme is a compulsory core curriculum, which guarantees students a high level of Chinese language proficiency and the inherent inheritance of traditional Chinese culture and the spirit of Tsinghua. Our students are characterised by strong bilingualism in Chinese and English and academic excellence.

Our results are widely recognised by parents and the community. Our graduates have been admitted to top universities including Harvard, Yale, Stanford, Columbia, MIT, Brown, Cornell, University of Toronto, Imperial College, University College London and Tsinghua University. The school's dedicated and professional teaching staff, motivated and innovative student body, equal and harmonious educational atmosphere, and colourful campus culture that combines Chinese and Western cultures provide a broad stage for the healthy growth and all-round development of every student.

Educational technology innovation practice

1. Use Azure cloud services to connect AI tools, for example, OpenAI's GPT-4, DallE, Microsoft's Azure Speech Recognition, into the school's IT system as part of the school's infrastructure. We call this AI Infrastructure. Teachers and students will have the opportunity to use tools such as GPT-4 directly in their daily work software (Microsoft Teams) without having to worry about limitations such as place of registration, payment, network address.

2. Teaching the application of AI tools in the Steam classroom, such as using RunwayML to do creativity or editing in the new media classroom; using Microsoft Nuwa in the art classroom to do expanded painting, creative interoperability, and explaining the principles of art; and using the language model in the technology classroom to learn the code, and so on.

3. Large-scale language modelling is used in language classes as an aid to student development. For example, use language models in the English classroom for imitation, amplification, appreciation, and creative writing; use language models in debate clubs for preparation, debate, argumentation and counter-argumentation, and so on.
